The most import breeding aims for a reputable breeder must be the dog’s health, his character and his conformity with the standard. This aim is followed by all breeders. But the lines within the breed differ a lot concerning phenotype and working attitude. There is not only one type that is the real Samoyed. The standard offers a wide range of breeding standard compliant samoyeds, but there is a need to avoid extrems. Every type has it right to exist and its enthusiasts.
Our aim is to breed Samoyeds with a typical character, which make the breed so unique. The Samoyed is an independent dog with a kind of pig-head, but always adorable, good companion and without any aggression. In our minds the Samoyed is an essential sled and working dog. That does not mean that the only suitable activity is sledding, but it does mean that he is a dog who loves to work and to have some action. species-appropriate action could be biking, scootering, jogging or hiking. To our experience only a few Samoyeds are perfect for agility or obedience as they do not have the necessary trait for that sport. The Samoyed is not an allrounder which is able to do all kind of dog sports. If this would be true, the Samoyed has lost its unique character.
The Samoyed is more than a sweet white teddy bear. He is a dog which origin assignment was to be a team with its handler also in adverse conditions. For this he must have the anatomic and mental ability.
This is our breeding aim or in other words (taken over from the Code of the IG Samojede): we promote the Samoyed as a healthy, efficient and strong sled and working dog.
